About

I’m a 40-something-year-old woman navigating the wild ride of starting over. Newly divorced, I’m trying to stay healthy, make money, and keep my sanity intact—all while figuring out what comes next. Life is messy, unpredictable, and rarely tied up with a neat little bow, which is why this blog exists.

My last name is Slate, and since I was a kid, the phrase “clean slate” has driven me up the wall, especially when people say it with me in the room. Hence the name of this blog: “Not So Clean Slate.” Because let’s face it—life is far from spotless.

This blog is my way of sharing the highs, the lows, and the laugh-out-loud moments of this new chapter. It’s a place where I can talk about the struggles of starting over, the ridiculousness of trying to “have it all,” and the universal feeling that you might just lose your mind. My hope is that my honesty will make you laugh, make you think, and most importantly, make you realize you’re not alone in the chaos.
